Here is Mont Blanc and its nearby peaks viewed from the Aiguille (needle) du Midi that is 3800m or almost 12500ft above sea level. A very serious concern from the Global Warming perspective is that the temperature rise here in only 100 years has been twice the global average, and the consequences are felt over the entire mountain range. Routes up the mountain are becoming more dangerous as we see from the loss of life, and some routes to the top are now officially closed. |
